Hi everyone, just bought an askell & keen AK70 mk2 portable music player. It has a built in dual DAC & sounds amazing (only coz my iPod classic has died). So question is- can I connect this to my mk7 golf GTD via the VW mmi with one of there leads or anyone have any ideas? It has a 2.5mm socket & a 3.5mm one,not sure which one would give best sound? Depends on the model of your sound system. And note that you will lose the benefits of your dual DAC if you use a "line in" on any modern head unit as it will pass through an A-D step before being processed by the DSP for tone and volume and sent to the digital output amps. Not that you'll hear the benefits of a nice DAC when driving anyway..

In other words, use the most convenient digital playback method you can find, as the analogue ones will likely sound worse.
