Best GPS antenna placement for retrofit Nav system

Hi all,
I've installed a nav system (discover pro) on my MK7
I 've preferred the original GPS antenna but it seems more difficult to cut the room to fit it.
Could you suggest me the best place for a GPS antenna ?

thanks

Retro fitted satnav to a TT. Used a stick on antenna placed inside the car, between the dash and the engine bulkhead. Sounds like it shouldn't work, I know, but it did, and surprisingly well. Makes it easy to route the cable to the satnav unit, too.

How are you going to fix VW's unit coding for the Discover Pro? I have heard it is not an easy thing to do.

What aerial you getting guys? I've bought generic one and it works fine however it comes as a fault in VCDS scan:

2565 - GPS Antenna
B1054 13 [009] - Open Circuit
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

Apart of that all fine and picking the signal up well.

If worked fine, it propably comes because of too high resistance somehow. Maybe another GPS antenna will remove this message? (Another number/letter?)
