I have a new golf, only done 1200 miles. Over the last couple of days following a random couple of starts I have had a message appear on the screen saying 'component protection active' together with no sound from the radio. After about 30 seconds the message dissapeared and sound returned. Is this anything to be concerned about, should I have a trip to the dealer?

Go to the dealer you bought it from as component protection can only 100% be sorted by access to the FAZIT network which is VW factory connection.

Sounds like there is a serious problem .....

Thanks for your replies.
I've been in touch with the dealer & arranged to take it in for diagnostics. The technicians there are puzzled & don't have a clue what it could be. Will post the results next week after it's been in.

Took it into the dealers, they didn't really have an answer, they just did a software update & said the problem is sorted.
