To realign the sensor takes a specialist piece of equipment. i did hit something, fox and one of the plastic holders broke and knocked the sensor off the skew. was quoted approx £400 to set up same. Bought a mounting kit and replaced the plastic clip pushed the sensor back in and cleared fault with vagcom. no more problems. It has been reported that it may be a software glitch! http://www.pro-align.co.uk/proalignproducts/vw-group/vw-alignment/ specialist tool. they reckon very expensive!

Hi
I had a similar problem on my 2016 golf GTI, after a few months of owning the car I kept getting the same message ACC front assist not available. On closer inspection I found the cover over the radar to be loose and on occasions even coming off and sitting on the bumper. I found the fixings looked cheap and not sturdy enough for such a vital component. I found even if the cover was slightly out of align It would cause the error. I managed to fix it myself in the end so may be worth having a look yourself before paying.

Thanks for all your support guys. I finally got a revised quote of £400 to replace the brackets and fixings and the recalibration of the ACC system from the original dealership. After a discussion with sales in the alternative VW dealership who'd completed a secondary inspection and my MOT I couldn't resist replacing my Golf (£400 to place the order on a stock vehicle). My new 66 plate 1.4TSi Golf Match Edition is due to arrive in 10 days time with only a marginal increase to my monthly car payments. Very good outcome for a rather baffling situation.

i had a similar issue, a rabbit ran in front of my car in the middle of the night and a warning notification came on but didn't manage to see which it was, the next day i was using cruise control and it just turned off with the same message. took it back to the dealer and they said it's knackered and would be a few hundred quid, said i'll get back to them and two weeks later i tried turning it on again and it's been fine ever since, not sure what they were meant to be fixing but it's been spot on since - give it some time before getting them to fix it

Had a problem with my ACC that intermittent "ACC Not Available". Check the brackets and everything seemed secure. Refitted the connection and fault went away. Put it down to bad connection.

Had this come on this morning. The car is only 2 months old and with 1200 miles so a bit disconcerting, but a quick wipe of the sensor (wasn't very dirty) seems to have rectified the problem for now.
