going to try 2.5 gallons of e85 tonight. if the car likes it i may start considering jb4 or something to tune for it

not yet! waiting for spring atleast, and the final outcomes for the types of replacement bushings & etc i can do at the same time! so kind of pending on your research

I have what I need in house now.
May call the installer and see if I can line something up this week.
Will need to take off.

I will ask about the other questions you mentioned.
I was going to ask them for suggestions if I also do the alignment check.
Might as well mod something if I am going to spend for alignment.

How's the E 85 treating you?

No noticeable difference really. I havent logged anything to see whats going on with kock retard or timing advance. I am sure that tuning for it would open up some power but without tuning there is no gain unless its summertime maybe, IMO.

So i switched my spark plugs tonight. The tuning shp that i had orignally put the denso 24's in left the gap at like 28 which is a bit higher than what apr recommends. So i gapped mine right to 24.

Car runs great and all but i thought about it and after some reading i need someone to clarify my thoughts: bigger gap is better for power and efficiency right? Biggest gap i can run without blowout/misfire is ideal? Any negatives for smaller gaps? I think the car may idle better with smaller gaps but who cares about that right? Power! Haha

Anyone have any insight on these plugs? They have about 15k of use. Were gapped to .026 - .028 (or atleast became that way lol)

They look pretty good IMO but the scorches running so far down the threads indicate that they were getting pretty hot. The grainy grey deposits would look a little more normal but i'm unsure if the more ashy look is a concern.

A little more brown color is right at the tip of the outer electrodes which is good.

regapped to .026 just to be safe

also put my intake cover back on and removed my DV Spacer, as I've been getting ~24-25 mpgs for the last few months when I USED to get 30. I am driving easier than I used to; even bad winter gas considered I do not think my mileage should be suffering so bad. Assuming the intake system is rather specific and needs the be metered better as well as needing the diverter valve to recirculate the blow off air.

WELL guys its been fun but as some of you may have noticed I put my car up for sale

I just gotta save more money for a house. 450 a month just wasn't making it easy lol.

Sooo I sold it private sale to a guy who i think will take good care of her in Minnesota! Nice kid. Maybe he will pop up on the board who knows.

Sold the car for ~21k and another 800 for some of the extras, then i took off some of the other parts and made about 1000 off all that so i made out pretty damn good!

Then right when the kid drove away in my MK7 my buddy picked me up and we went to get a MK6! :lol:

This is a rebuilt title due to a fender bender on the rear door, the repairs were DECENT except some paint is flaking off the area and a bit of rust which i will likely get taken care of. Otherwise this is in really good shape.

It DRIVES BETTER than the MK7 did! lol! maybe due to the solid sub chassis and not being unibody?

40000 miles 2012 GTI. My 2015 had 27000 miles so NOT a big downgrade!

I know i said i did this to save money but i gotta get this thing how i want first... so i ordered;
18" Golf R Cadiz wheels and tires
New fuel filter (As i am at 40k miles right now)
White painted front euro lip from deutsche auto parts
RCD510 radio (i dont use nav so figured id save a few hundred bucks vs the rns 510)
New fog light housings (mine are consensating on the inside and look like crap)
fog light tint film since the clear fogs look kinda gay
6000k fog HID kit
black VW badges for front/back
