Hey there guys im new to all of this, i came across this site through a random search after recently purchasing a brand new manual transmission Golf R in deep pearl black :). So a few basics about me..im Matt im 29yrs young haha im from a small city in cambridgeshire. Ive had my R for a month now and im loving it, i did have the mk7 gti before i brought this golf..the gti was a nice fun car to drive but i just fancied an upgrade with a lot less mileage. Any questions feel free to comment :)

Thanks guys :). As far as mods go im not going to go crazy as ive kinda grown up a lot after owning my old mk6 fiesta which i basicly dropped on air ride sitting on silly stretched tyre sizes(we’ve all been there before lol) so yea im keeping it smart yet subtle. However what i do have planned are as follows...Pretoria alloys..gloss carbon wing mirror covers as im not particurly keen on the silver personally..window deflectors(heko of course)..forge blow off valve and resonator delete, purely for sound why not haha...oh yea and also at some point when i eventually get round to it i shall disconnect the soundaktor(shame on you VW tut tut)

Welcome to the Forum Matt. The Golf R is a great vehicle as it does so many things well. So is your R going to be your daily driver ?

One mod I would like to suggest is to replace the plastic front under belly pan cover as the oil pan for your car is also made out of plastic. If you hit a bump or a pothole or even and animal at speed it can crack your oil pan.

Here is the link to the one we sell at ECS Tuning: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...011768ecs01kt/?utm_source=golfmk7&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=chuck_10_20_2017

Have fun and enjoy your new R,

Chuck

Yes this is my every day daily drive :). How much for shipping cost to the UK would the oil pan mod be? and also for a pair of carbon fibre wing mirror covers off of you guys?

Not sure I like the idea of putting a "bowling ball" under my hood. Polymer should be as strong with much lower weight.
