Removing the BCM?

Hey all,

Trying to to footwell lights retrofit. Need to access the bcm harness to add a wire to c72.

But I'm having troubles disconnecting the harness connectors while the bcm is in the car. Now I'm trying to remove the bcm, but I can't get it out. Does any one know if there is a trick to this? I wiggled the bcm so it's half free, but it just doesn't want to come out all the way. It gets caught on the corner.

Do I even have to remove the bcm to get the c connector?

You just remove the connectors. No need to remove the bcm.

Figured it out.
The connector had a clip at the top that I couldn't get to. After sliding the bcm down I was able to get this and remove the connector.

The white clip? Were you able to get it off without breaking?

Edited!

I see you solved your problem. For future reference for other members, no need to remove the BCM to add a pin to the connectors. The connectors/harnesses located on the outboard side of the BCM are clearly labeled.

Push the small tab down on the connnector and pull the white latch down. The plastic zip tie will have to be cut. It's probably one of the easiest VW connectors to deal with. Some are a serious PITA.

That small tab is key. It's what was giving me so many issues.
I only noticed it after fighting with the bcm for an hour and a half.
