All digital vs. semi digital cockpit in 2017

Hi there, what does it mean to get a new VW Golf Allstar in 2017 with a semi digital cockpit (analogue speedometer & tachometer + the digital block in the middle)?

I.e. is it possible and if so is that a good or a bad thing to have? Does it mean that the car could have been produced before 2017 and only now reached the market (due to possible defects etc.)?

We saw both all digital and semi-digital versions and generally would like to understand what else stands behind that difference?

It may sound weird but with VW Golf MK7 been on the market since 2014 with probably a lot of things been fixed/improved since - what generally ensures that people won't be getting any sort of older 2015/2016 stock tagged as "2017"? Until new facelift model hits the pavement how many people will have enough knowledge to distinguish between MK7 '2015 and MK7 '2017?

We are only looking after the specific model - VW Golf MK7 Allstar 1.6 Diesel DSG.

thank you.

Until the release of yhe facelift all mk7 have the analogue speedo / tacho and digital centre console, no matter what spec.

There has been a few improvements to the infotainment system between 2013 release and the current golf. From memory it happened around 2015.

The facelift version will go into production in march when the manufacturing year changes. The full digital dash is available as standard on thd performance Golfs and as a option on lower spec cars.

Other than the digital dash, bigger infotain screen and a few cosmetic tweaks to the front and rear light clusters and valances the current mk7 and facelift are identical. They maybe different engines available too but the suspension and dynamic are totally the same.

LHD facelift version went into production in january. I've been sitting in several 7.5s with the AID panel.
OP should do a google search for 'Volkswagen Golf Active Info Display' and visit Volkswagen website.
