Downpipe flange for block

So I've unloaded my UR catless downpipe and am now in the market for a catted downpipe. One thing I've noticed in looking at different downpipes is that some have a flange for connecting to the stock block in the OEM location.

Is this a necessity? Better for long term stability or durability? Trying to make the most informed decision possible this time around.

Anybody? Is flange/no flange not really a big deal? Just wondering if it helps reduce downpipe stress/movement an appreciable amount.

Mine doesn't have the bar w/two bolts; it works fine. The two mounts in the rubber grommets below, cat/pipe, and turbo seem to hold things in place securely.

Mine does not bolt onto the block. Catless. 15000 miles no problem.

No need for the upper mount, aftermarket dp weigh less than half of the OEM one
