Saw this advertised in a racing supplies magazine. Good price, and claims it won't hurt anything. Thought of our wheels. pH is 10-11, mildly alkaline.

I just checked the pH of my Meguiar's car wash. It calls for 4 capfuls to a gallon but I checked it full strength. It registered 6. In fact, the litmus paper didn't change color at all. To make sure the reagent on the paper was still good I checked it against lemon juice. It immediately turned red. Perhaps I should make up a spray bottle of Meguiar's to clean wheels since I know it really won't hurt anything.
