235/40/18 Michelin PSS or PS3

Hi All,

Does anyone have any data for the two and which one to go with?

The PSS is rock solid but the PS3 is stickier it seems but mileage rating?

This is an IS38 GTI so I’m going for broke.

I drive 5k miles a year and I live in Arizona so rain and snow isn’t an issue.

But I still want a reliable tire for trips to Cali. Thoughts?

Not to derail, but 5k a year?
Do that in a less than a month.

Anyway, I know you specifically put 235, but if you're willing you go 245, the new ps4 is available.

And before you ask, I have no experience with any of them

Lol yeah I fly every week so the car sits at the airport 10 miles away.

I think a 245/40/18 will be too thick. I may consider new wheels to go 245/35/19 if it fit relatively easily.

I have 235/40/18 with extreme contact sport and i won't have full traction in 2nd. Only in 3rd and 4th. My 225 pss were the same

I've got the 235 40 18 PS2 on my GSW, and really enjoy them. I can't comment on life yet, but with a prior set on a Mk4, I got quite a few miles out of them, mainly highway driving.

Don't mean to get off topic but you end up keeping the IS38 vs selling it to go BT? Any plans to get work done to it? I'm in the same boat, have it sitting in the attic while I decide what to do with it.

He has me beat lol I'll probably only hit 3500 miles when my first year comes up! I knew I wouldnt drive significant miles and didn't need a practical hatchback but the GTI won my heart.

I’m going to have it balanced and ported but that’s about it.

Thanks for the replies! I think I decided on the pss as it has a 30k mike warranty.
