The stereo sounds good, but I want to upgrade the quality. I have a bunch of equipment from my last car that I want to install (speakers, amp, DSP, & sub) but need a little help from the knowledgeable people here.
I have all the wiring diagrams & repair manuals for the MK7 (best $35 I ever spent) and have been looking over them. I know I want to keep the infotainment center, to many integrated pieces to mess with and it works okay (I do like the Android Auto). I believe I have the base 8RM stereo (no digital sound system control module); basically a head unit, 8 speakers, plus external inputs in the glove box.
Am I correct in that it appears that all the speaker outputs are coming directly out of the radio (J685) and traveling to the speakers? I want to tap the factory speaker outputs to run into my DSP and I need an accessible point to make the tie-in. Where have people found the best location to tap the speaker wires?
