Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the fanboys have shown they are NOT willing to pay $50K+ on these things. That's why these marked up examples are sitting on the lot collecting dust while the dealer prays the village idiot comes and pays up the ass.

Well, you can blame the dealer in the same sense that usury might be a good business decision; you can do it (by artfully getting around the laws, usually, with things like payday loans), but the entire Abrahamic tradition condemns it and Shakespeare even wrote a play about it.

But ultimately, yeah, caveat emptor. Anyone who actually pays that much for this car is either very wealthy and very determined (in which case, w/e), or dumb as a rock.

Kind of sad if you ask me. That Type R is a cool machine. It will be the death of it just like the RS and other nice new cars that are slightly under-priced.... Why they see the need to go that far above the sticker is bizarre. Never been the kind of person to oversell something above its value set by the manufacturer. Just like the RS, theyll probably release a 'special edition' afterwarsd before putting it to sleep for awhile..

IMO they gimped the SI for no reason to save room for this thing

there has to be some people paying 15k above msrp for this to be happening. those with more money than brains. Majority of people seem discontent with the huge markup but I have seen a couple on the road. The rarity of production, along with the markup that very few will pay makes it the perfect item for people who want to own something that no one else will likely have. just to be that one guy in the town that owns a type R.
