brake fluid

My car reaches 3 years at the end of August.
I've just had an email saying that the brake fluid needs changing. I was a bit surprised as I am on the flexible service plan, and it won't need a service till December or January. I thought they would do the change at the same time.
Should I book it in now or can it wait till Dec?I do around 1500 miles a month

It should be done every two years and has nothing to do with mileage. It's hygroscopic (absorbs water). That impairs the ability of the fluid to work properly and causes corrosion in the calipers. Do it.

First time after three years then every second year for all vw:s.
