Would 26" for both the front and fears make good sense? I'm asking in relation to the usual stiffer front setup.

That would actually be my preference if I had a mk7. Tightening up the rear more than you tighten the front will help even more to reduce understeer. I know some people that track their cars and only upgrade the rear bar. The only potential downside would be an inexperienced driver not having as much control of the car in an emergency situation - this is because understeer is easier to control than oversteer for most casual drivers.

Rear only? 24 mm.
26 mm if you also do the front sway and run uprated dampers or DCC.

Not looking to do crazy more. I like having fun on the backroad, and I do not have DCC and would like to leave the springs alone.
