I was told that a version with the red stripe will be out by early fall. Once they are ready I will post more info. They will be manufactured by the same company that makes these Golf R reps.

The GTI reps sold by Winpower, I would not want to touch...

Would you loose your full electric warranty on the car if you fitted these or just the warranty for the headlights? I would like to get these but I am unsure of the warranty

Here is a DIY Guide for installing the lights.

http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5153

For warranty, its best to check with your dealer to see what they have to say. Some do not mind, some just want to make any excuse not to provide warranty service.

They look like good quality units via pics. Would be interested to hear if the seller honours any warranty claims.

Not saying he wont, but have been stung before with Led drl's purchased online:-(:-(:-(.

Also, the dealer will use any excuse and blame it on the lights. Make sure you tell you insurance as this is a mod.

Hi Ed, are these headlights able to be manufactured so the light cutoff suits RHD markets? There are quite a few guys in Australia who would be keen on this.

It doesn't look like the chrome strips through the headlights line up with the strip on the grill. Is this just the way the headlights are or can they be aligned properly? These look so good otherwise!

Answers:

Warranty - one year warranty on the LEDs, I very rarely had issues with LEDs, either they work at the beginning and last a very long time or they just dont at the beginning. Also will provide warranty against factory defects.

Note - things like condensation is common with any new headlights, be sure to get them use to the local weather conditions before installing them, especially if it is hot and humid. A bag of silica gel in the headlights will help.

For the RHD version, we have to wait and see, the minimum order quantity is 50 sets for the RHD version as the manufacturer normally only makes the LHD version.

The Golf R front grille has a thicker chrome piece which aligns with the headlights. On a regular Golf grille, the stripe is much thinner so it looks like it does not line up.

What about the auto-leveling system? Can i change the Xenon bulb for the halogen bulb, so i can pass on inspection...
My car doesn't have washers or auto-leveling system.
And what about warranty? Am i going to lose it because of using not OEM parts?

You can swap in regular H7 halogen bulbs. For warranty, check with your dealer, it depends. Some dealers actually sell after market parts such as these lights or similar, but others dont.

In the past, I have sold headlights and other parts to VW dealerships, and people who work at them.

I personally think if you have some kind of Xenon bulb and you choose not to have self levelling - that's dangerous and I think a problem. Auto levelling is there for a reason and choosing not to fit it, just have xenon like lights I personally think is a bit selfish. Sorry to sound like I am having a pop, i just think safety on the road is important. Being blinded by lights is not much fun.

I am not aware of any UK dealer that would sell you these lights, in the UK at least without auto levelling and headlight washers you are breaking the law.

James

As I said, it depends on the dealer, and where you live....for example in Canada, we have no government mandated vehicle inspections. Aim the lights properly, and you will be fine.

@James75:
I understand your point, but i think the big problem is not using Xenon without Auto-Leveling system, thoose cars don't blind me, in my opinion if a Xenon Projector is used, is ok.
The true problem is people using Xenon Bulbs without any kind of projector.
Just my opinion.

@edward:
Just answer me two more questions, i heard by a friend that on that "replica" headlights, the high beam is weak, compared with OEM headlights. Is that true?
Are they Bi-Xenon?
I think i am going to order one of thoose pairs of Golf R Headlights.
Btw, it will be nice if you post some photos with the lights (high beam, etc.) turned on at Night.

Jota, I agree with you that's much more of an issue.
