Brake pedal hold feature

My current car has a cool (lazy-bones) feature: when I press the brake pedal, it stops. Haha :D, what I mean is, when stationary, if I press the brake pedal hard and release, it holds the car, until I touch the accelerator. At first, I thought it was a gimmick but I use it a lot now, and will miss it.

I have a Golf VII on order and was wondering if it has the same feature?

If not, can anyone make any suggestions of how I might go about “adding” it, assuming it’s not a VCDS coding job. I have ordered radar cruise control and DSG, therefore, I assume it has “brake-by-wire”.

TIA

Auto hold is standard on all the UK cars (and most of the rest of the world) and is an excellent feature. But remember if you drive another auto you will find yourself rolling forwards as by habit you just come to a stop and remove your foot from the brake pedal.

Thank you. That's awesome. Never noticed it on the test driven 'R'.

Thinking about it, I commented to the salesman and he didn't pick up on it.

It might not have been turned on. You need to lift the Autohold button behind the parking brake button once. The light will be lit when it's on.
