I test mine as well. Have been on all my cars for a couple of decades. I personally wouldn't go anywhere near 12k miles on any oil in this current ride and my driving style. It's always a personal decision, which is why you can't apply your standards for your car and your driving style to everyone else without sounding a tad preachy.

Believe me, I've run 15k+ OCI on some of my cars. This isn't one of those cars.

I enjoy working on my cars. Doing an oil change is a relaxing experience. Different strokes as they say. Changing oil at 5,000 miles does no harm & is good for the economy. It's a win win.

Gotta love these oil change debates. I'm not going near your Royal Surple choice.
