Removal / opening up of top (upper) console sunglasses holder

Looking for a pictorial guide to removal of top console, the console mounted to interior roof to the rear of rear view mirror, which contains various switches and sunglasses / eyeglasses holder.

My intent is to tap into this location for power and ground to run dash cam to be mounted near rear view mirror. I've found some guides that are text only and some guides that used to have photos embedded in which photos no longer display. Also would be nice to see photos of wiring within this console to understand how difficult it will be to do a tap before opening up console.

Anyone know of any good guides with photos (that still work)?

Search for the rearview mirror retrofit. The DIY I used for that effort had you pull apart the upper console.

Just so you know, I've seen a few posts stating they were not able to reliably tap into any power up in there.

I’ve got photos of my roofline with the headliner removed from a totally unrelated service- maybe seeing what’s “naked” under there would clue you in if I shared them? (Don’t have em on me right now or I’d just toss them up) I can’t guarantee they’re any Good for actual reference- they were just quick snapshots as evidence of what was happening at the time.

Most people run dashcam lines down the driver's side A pillar and into the fuse box there.
