Oil Consumption at 6k and 8k miles

before buying the car i read that GTI are consumers of oil but didn't think a car so new would need 1/2 quart at 6k and another 1/2 at 8k.

questions:

* did people experience the same issue with low miles?

* is there a fix such from VW (tsb) or using a different weight oil?

* if this happening now what can i expect oil consumption to be like at 30k or 60k?

Give it a good Italian tune to bed it in properly. Mine used oil but after that it doesn't use a drop now.

Unless you have a leak that's nowhere near a problem. VW will tell you its normal if you're burning a quart in 1,000 miles.

I just did an oil change at 7k miles, and the oil I extracted was around 5.5 liters/qts, and the dip stick level was in between high and low (center)
