I just picked up a golf 1.8t muffler to put onto my gti. Has anyone installed any tips onto theirs? If so, pics and brand.

Thanks

The OEM VW chrome tips are probably your best bet.

I'm hoping he got the boss 600 kit and built the motor, then plans to disguise as a plain old Golf for maximum infliction of hurt feelings

Well is38 and I picked up another stock downpipe to remove the cat from it. So it's going to be louder than what I have now.

I guess I could remove the gti badge and put a tsi one on ;)

I did just the first cat and left the second one. With the tsi muffler, it's still quiet. Car runs about 95% of what it did with the 3" downpipe and high flow cat. It's mostly in the upper rpms. I just adjusted my map though and think I got most of it back in torque and now shift at 6,000

Yeah. I'm planning on doing the same (leave the 2nd cat).

Good to hear about the quietness, although I do like my current muffler delete.

I was out running it hard last night and it worked well. Just had to adjust the tune a bit. More torque and a little less up top. The IS38 will probably behave a lot differently though
