Just thought I would say hello to everyone and introduce myself. Bought a 2015 Golf R yesterday and this forum has been great in my learning curve thus far. I grew up with my mate always having the golf anniversary edition, r32's so always wnated the same one day. So glad i took the plunge - cant stop smiling every time i get in th car. :):)

IMO the R offers a great deal of stealthy economy, speed, fun, comfort, and utility for the money. Welcome and enjoy!

First and foremost, welcome to the Forum.
How many kilometers are on your R when you bought it ?
Is this R going to be your daily driver ?
Are there any mods on the car ?

If your car has the stock front plastic under belly cover, replace that asap with an Aluminum Street Shield. The stock belly cover is made of plastic and so is the oil pan. So if you hit something in the road you can crack open your oil pan.

Here is a link to the Street Shield that we sell at ECS Tuning; https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-par...m-street-shield-skid-plate-kit/011768ecs01kt/?utm_source=golfmk7&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=chuck_10_20_2017

The next mod you should think about is installing an Oil Catch Can. The reason I say this is that our engines will build up carbon deposits on the valves and the intake runners. This will cause poor acceleration and loss of power.
Here is the link to the one we sell at ECS Tuning: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/ecs-tuning-baffled-oil-catch-can-system/016901ecs01-01kt/

If you drive your R in cold weather you will also to install this Cold Weather Bypass Hose: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/ecs-cold-weather-bypass-hose/021834ecs0102kt/

You need this in cold weather driving because the moisture can freeze in the lines, and that will increase the crankcase pressure.

Look forward to hearing from you

Chuck
