Inner DRLs?

I'm quite sure I'm not the first person to ask this but I struggled to find an answer (mostly because I didnt know what exactly to search for..)

Basically the horseshoe shaped DRLs on my '17 GTI...the R model has them on the parking light as well, looking at my headlight assembly it looks like the equipment is there, but I dont know if the lighting element is... is there a way to get that inner DRL on the GTI?

Im hoping it is as simple as a VCDS coding but honestly have no idea. (I have vagcom...I just never got around to getting it working on my macbook...unless this is my motivation)

You need a R headlight unit or copy, the ones in the GTI have the U but no LED's behind it. There is no way to light them up.
