There are a few oddities that point to it being more, and they happen to be shared with the RS3. Number one is wider front fenders to allow for a front-biased staggered tire setup. Secondly its using the brake setup seen on the RS3 when its prototype was spied in testing. Lastly, up front you can see a relatively large factory appearing oil cooler, again shared with the RS3.

There have been a number of reports in various car magazines that all plans for the R400 were dropped when the company had to focus on diesel gate.

Just spend a bit of money on tuning your golf r and it will be a r400 or more in terms of power!
