Footwell Lighting Troubleshooting

Footwell light not working when door open - your
Front dome light switch should be set to auto position, if the dome lights work when the door is opened, the footwell lights will also.

Flickering/Blinking, I have not seen this behaviour in mine other than the bulb out diagnostic, where the Leds flicker for few second., during a cold start. Not sure your auto headlights are doing it. I do not have this setup, and not sure how these works.

And yes, even I am waiting for the original coding to be fixed/working on my model...

Figured out why the foot well lights didn't turn on with the doors open. I forgot to save the adaptation "Leuchte30FR LC72-Lichtfunktion C 30 = Interior Lights" before.

I also went and undid everything to see why the lights are flickering. I don't think it has anything to do with the coding since it was still doing it.

Here is the errors I was getting in OBDEleven:

Hi!

Same issue with the non working footwells...

Tried a few ways coding but no success at all.
BTW I dont have the terminal x58 thing at my adaption so that solution is a no way.

I'll try to link the fw lights to the interior lights and see whats happening.

I didn't have terminal 58xs dimmer, there was something else in german with 58xs, I assumed that was it. And it worked.

Glad to hear it worked ! Noticed that the vcds labels differ quite a bit between different versions of their software and our bcms.

Google Translate is my friend here, I think I will learn German soon [emoji12]

Ravi, have you seen BucisB's other thread-?
He was able to get the footwell lights to work the oem way by enabling diagnostic mode in obdeleven. Have you tried this?

http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29362

I want to try when I get some free time.
[emoji106] thanks for the pointer, I will have to see if I can get an obd11., to give it a try. Not sure if this is feasible using vcds...

If you changed Leuchte30FR LC72-Lichtfunktion A 30 to interior light. it will work perfect. when you closed the door and turn the car on, it will turn off.

Having a bit of the same issue. The footwell lights work, yet still having issues being able to adjust the brightness via the menu setting.

hey davis,

I can only speak to the '15 model that I have. im sure its possible on the '17 but i have to imagine there are some coding differences...

I'm hoping Dan can chime in with his thoughts.

I undid any coding I had done previously, followed your instructions, and was unsuccessful.

What I have noticed is that my car does not have the option for the Bytes that many of the other footwell DIY's include, which I feel is either a Ross-Tech incompatability (software wise), or just the inability of my BCM.

If worse comes to worse, I will revert back to old settings to have the footwells dim with the instrument lights, but I would prefer them to be adjustable via the infotainment slider.

Hey!
I have installed LED footwell lights in my Golf, I have made all codings and adaptations, but I'm wondering if it's OK: footwell lights during opening doors have 100% power. But after turning driving lights on, footwell lights dimm to ~50% power. I have set 100% power in MIB of course. Is it ok? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

they reach a higher level of brightness with the doors open. youve done nothing wrong.
