Reverse Gear?

Does anyone else ever have issues getting into reverse?
After a journey, going to reverse into a parking spot or whatever, sometimes the gear refuses to go in to reverse, i usually have to take my foot off the clutch then back down before i can reverse, doesn't happen everytime but i seem to notice it more in the cold... Getting on my nerves!

There's no synchro on reverse gear so this is not unusual.

...if it creaks, it's probably made by VAG

When I drove stick, I would always put it in 1st gear then "flick" it into reverse, instead of going from a higher gear into reverse.

seems like normal manual behavior for me after 5 manual cars and 20+ years of driving. As said no synchro for reverse. Your car probably goes into first sometimes easier then you go down to second then into first when stopped at a light too. Changing the fluid and adjusting the linkage will help sometimes. Youtube it...
