I think the e-golf ram is one solid piece, at least that is what those part numbers pull up. However it has a hose on the other end for the airbox instead of a scoop.

I was thinking about this the other day.
All the open air intakes have a heat shield that connects to the intake duct.
If you look at the OEM setup the grill feeds air into the intake duct on the passenger side.
I think it would be interesting to see the open air intakes (with and without the "heat shield") and run it with the intake duct taken OUT.

the Golf GTE intake part number is: 5Q0129849.
This is the intake without any holes on the engine side, except for a connector for the airbox tube

I can find that listed on any VW part sites, must be dealership order only.

Air is taken in on the underside of the passenger side vent, which is very passive. Need something to catch it & re-direct it upwards. Heard the new Revo carbon fiber piece has this design, although I dont see it in the pics

That's what I'm hoping to 3D print. Basically a scoop that would sit behind the grille to bring it up then a 2nd pickup to the airboxand get rid of the entire front air dam thing entirely. Just no time to mock it up lol. Still have to install my DP first

Closed the warm air side with VW part number 5Q0129849 (snaps right in) and opened up right side for more cold air. Will have grill similar to left side as ordered from 2slowvw who is manufacturing see above.

...but living in UK where the GTE is sold which is what this part is from ...its basically next day to the dealers parts dept....
