VW Golf 7 GTI START-STOP SYSTEM

Hi everyone,

Im very new to this as i just registered last week.
I am in love with the new Golf 7 GTI and i cant wait for it to arrive in South Africa.

I just wanted to know if anyone knows what they mean by the START-STOP SYSTEM that will feature on the new GTI?

Start-Stop system are standard on all VW models (at least in Norway)

I think UK as well. You can tell if a car has it when it says Bluemotion. Correct me any one if I am wrong.

If I understood what you mean, then; a Stop-Start System automatically shuts down the engine whenever you stop the car and release the clutch in neutral, it automatically restarts the engine as soon as you press the clutch and engage first gear.

The main aim of this technology is to improve fuel economy by preventing the car from burning precious fuel "while not moving", less-emissions is a bonus advantage this technology is particularly useful in traffic jams & at traffic lights.

of course you can always turn it off if you don't feel like utilizing it
