I damaged my oil pan in my A4 due to an ice chunk which fell from the vehicle going in front. Geico covered the replacement cost and listed it as an accident. Eventually i took a hit while selling the car because of the incident attached to the vehicle history.

That exact scenario happened to us in our Evo driving back from Houston. The ice build up behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler came off and damaged my oil pan. I will have this skid plate installed same time as springs going in.
