New diesel GTD 1.6 Golf purchased in March 2017 with 2K miles on it is giving us problems. The car is driven daily for approx 10 miles problems we have:
1. Increasingly strong smell of burn almost everyday at the end of the day in the saloon. Smells more like burnt oil than plastic, no exhaust from the rear though. We've been experiencing it for more than a month. We brought the car to the garage who sold it to us for inspection they said it could be some factory left oil which sound more like an excuse why only after 6 months?? Anyway they did something which stopped it from happening for a week now we have it again.
2. The turbine always never goes off when we switch off the engine. Previously we only had it once. We heard it's norm to have it once in a while but to have it after 5 miles trip for almost 5 minutes doesn't sound fair. The car looks tired as if it'd do much longer trip. The smell is sensible even from outside.
Could anyone advice on what could it be and what is the best approach to progress the issue.
