My DIY solution to the visor airbag warning stickers/decals

Did it on mine also. Driver side.
I put back on when warm and has not fallen since.
I would however clean the OE label first in case it has a film.
Denatured alcohol and a micro fiber cloth.
Over time my edges are peeling so I ordered a new set and will clean before this time.
Yeah I didn't clean with alcohol. I might do that and try again. I'll post back any results I find
I think that the force is strong with the red knob, something tells me that he did it [emoji4]

THANK GOD FOR YOU, SIR.

These freakin' visor warnings have been bothering me through three generations of VWs. There has never been nor will there ever be a need for a child seat in my damn car.

Just ordered my set for the new GTI. Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my cold icy heart.

Clean the area very well with a microfiber and high percent (90%+) IPA. Otherwise they won't stick like the above.

For anyone interested I've just ordered 4 die cut vinyl stickers with matt finish from diginate.com, cost £21 including delivery with a 10% discount found on google. Won't receive them until next week but I'll post an image when they arrive.

Obligatory: "My name is Mike, and I have OCD" (crowd): *Hi Mike*

I hate the airbag warning labels on the visors of my Mk7. They're very bold and distracting. I've seen numerous reports on how to remove these, but those solutions sure didn't look like they'd work for the mk7.
Unlike those from previous GTIs, the Mk7 appears that these airbag warnings are screen printed onto the visors themselves, and not really labels you can remove by soaking them with rubbing alcohol (as suggested by other fix attempts.) I also saw that some people tried this and were left with a sloppy mess, so I didn't want to go this route.

Plus, I'm lazy cheap, and don't want to disconnect things.
And since I'm very experienced with Adobe Illustrator, I just designed my own visor stickers/decals to cover them up that are made to look semi-OEM by design.

So here's the annoying labels I detest:

So I fired up Adobe Illustrator and created some vector art for a label that would universally look nice (hopefully) with the red GTI accents of the car. I designed this:

Then simply stuck them on over the annoying labels:

The photo doesn't' really do it justice, and makes the label stand out a bit more than it does in person, since the material itself catches the light differently in a photograph. In person it's even more "seamless" since the area itself is dark and it blends really well.

I searched the internet to have these printed and many shops won't print them unless you do a minimum print run of like 200 or so. But I was able to have these printed by Matt Fishler, the owner of MotoGFX (matt@motogfx.com) and the total cost was $30 for the pair. Total time from printing to arriving by mail was four business days. Done! I don't have any affiliation with Matt, but wanted to pass along his info in case anyone wants to make a pair of these for themselves. He likely has my exact same artwork still on-file if you want the exact same design printed, but if not, check later down in the thread for PDF links.

I'm really happy with the outcome, and it's far less distracting in my peripheral vision than the black/yellow warning labels.

EDIT: FEEL FREE TO DOWNLOAD THESE IF YOU LIKE THEM:

Some requested labels for the R and some requested them in different colors. It's really easy for me to adjust, so below are the variations in red, white and black. Feel free to download the one you like.

The sample images contain the little white guides are the corners for cutting. The final files do NOT need these. It's just a visual guide to show you how they look as a preview.

You can just drop the PDFs into Illustrator... They were created there as far as I know and should be vector already. If you can't figure it out, shoot me a PM.
