Hi Austin GTI owners, is there a particular dealer you would avoid or go for warranty work, free maintenance items?

Bought the car at Hewett, but there is also Charles Maud and Onion Creek.
Hewett is far from where im.

Thanks for any input!

Hewlett is the best/most mod friendly in the Austin area from what I've heard.

Hewlett is the best I know of. Ask for Tyler Garett.

Mike

Thanks Mike, going to bring it in for them to check a noise in the front of the car that sounds like a "bolt/nut rattling in a tin can" randomly during acceleration/cruising

one forum thread suggests it has something to do with the turbo bracket or something along those line they wont have a solution for...

but since the car is only 2000 miles i wanna get it checked out instead of waiting till 10k for service.

Hewlett VW is definetly the place to go . I've been there twice, and Tyler is great. You don't have mods though. If it's too far from where you live I would check out the other places.

I went to Onion creek once. If you don't have mods, they're not bad people.

So how's Hewlett when it comes to JB1s? Can someone share their experiences?

For oil changes or regular maintenance, I leave it on and let them know not to scan my car. I've done it for the past 3 oil changes. Set a good relation with the service advisor too - I usually go to Tyler.

I haven't gone for any more repairs, but if I did I would remove the JB1.

I lately heard onion creek has become friendlier. Anyhow do not go there tunned and pretend or say you are not. An innocent scan at the wrong time is not what you need
