Activated charcoal cabin air filter arrow pointed in wrong direction?

So I bought part # 5q0-819-669 for my car as that was what my existing air filter was. The one in my car had the yellow side of the filter down, with the arrow pointed down, as it should.

The one I bought had the arrow pointed toward the white side of the filter, essentially telling me the yellow side of the filter should be on top.

I did not listen to this as I thought the yellow side of the filter should be the bottom, but the text is upside down now on my filter, with the air flow direction arrow pointing up.

Did I do the right thing by not following the arrow? I'm just surprised that the text on the filter could be printed incorrectly..

If it fits it'll work. It's not like directional tire.

Not the charcoal filter I assume?
