So if I have 18x8.5 +44 and from research it looks like most are running 235/40/18 or 245/40/18 is this "look" attainable? Not referring to the white stencils and widebody, just the meaty flush look. Would anyone recommend a different tire size?

245/40 is the largest diameter I would go. Only way to get more tire sidewall and keep a reasonable diameter is to run a smaller wheel.

funks posted a pic of 245/40 in the Konig thread, not sure if you have seen it:

Oh nice. I wonder how that would look without a fender gap..I'll go check that thread. Thanks!

Just watch wheel/tire weight so you do not go over OE weight.
Might need light wheels to make up for tire weight.
I have titan7 ts5s. Definitely one of the lighter fully forged options available.

If you go down to 17s you can get 245/45/17 that's a lot of meat haha. 235/45/17 i think is closer to OEM diameter.

sorry meant ff15. sleep deprivation kicking in

I had HRE 547 on my MB and loved them. HRE FF was my other choice but I couldn't justify spending that much when comparing to the fully forged option that Titan7 provides.

Any pics?

I'd bet with coilovers, adjustable camber, 18x9s with 255s would be the meatiest you could go on stock* bodywork. Maybe even 17x9s for an even meatier look, if any are out there in VW fitment. It still won't be the frs with rocket bunny flares though :p

*Even then you'd need to do the fender screw mod at the very least and maybe further roll the fender lips.

Check out rjracing's build thread for example: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7623
