Yep. Start at 30mph. Shift into 4th and get a bit of that gear.

And reading a little bit up, I'm assuming I can use the JB4 app to log and make map 6 changes on my Android device with a USB to micro USB adapter? I have a JB1 with data cable btw

I am having some issues I believe are stemming from my JB4 - odd shifting and some hesitation and stumbling at times. 35k miles on stock plugs/coils and no other mods. I will work on getting some logs to share. I read this thread and believe most of what is in here is my problem. I had no issue with the JB1 and actually still have it. Once its above 30 degrees F I will put the JB1 back on to see...

Best tune to stack with JB4

Hey everyone - 1st post here. I've been running a JB4 with my '17 GTI on map 2, but recently started wondering what things would be like with more power haha.

My question is if anyone has stacked an ECU tune with JB4, what tunes have worked best for that purpose? Map 2 has worked like a charm, but I'm looking for a bit more top end. Hoping to put $ towards an R in a couple years, so trying to avoid spending a ton on bolt ons.

Uni is a good one to stack. Lots of timing and less boost so the JB4 can add boost.

I'd just like to share something interesting I've found... I've switched to Cobb now, in part due to their spark based traction control and how apparently it works some magic for 2WD cars.

Here's a log of wheelspin with OEM traction control back when I had my JB4:
https://datazap.me/u/ashiun/oct-14-...ty-wheelspin-rain?log=0&data=1-4&zoom=246-312

And here's one with Cobb's Traction control set on allowing 30% slip. I deleted most parameters per my tuner's request to not share logs publicly:
https://datazap.me/u/ashiun/cobb-tc-3-wheelspin?log=0&data=2-3

Both logs I had my foot flat on the throttle. Looking at the logs, the Cobb seems magical at managing wheelspin and maintaining boost, but it could be the case that the OEM TC run was simply in worse conditions and exaggerates the results. Can anybody share any logs of wheelspin if they have any?

Hope it's ok for me to post this in here considering I'm no longer logging my JB4

Load the 5A_3 firmware from here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50428

Most of what is felt like slip is actually a fueling anomaly that is sorted on this version of firmware. Let us know your findings.

That was exactly it! Thank you! Fixed it last night!

I actually had my wife drive the car normally the other day and I am sitting there with the live data watching throttle input remain the same but the AFR's dancing. I took a few logs and was reviewing them myself before sharing them here thinking first I had ignition issues.

All fixed - thanks guys!
