2015 GTI S, fog light retrofit possible?

Hi all,

I've searched all over and only came across a couple of old posts with no definite answer or DIY. Has anyone successfully retrofitted front fog lights in to a GTI without the lighting package yet? I really want to attempt this. I've seen there's been success with the Golf and kits are available. Nothing on the GTI.

Fog lights weren't standard on the S? My 2015 S has em. No LP here either.

Great, thanks o_a_ravi! I'd really appreciate that. I'll take a look at those links and check prices for the obvious parts required. I'll send you my VCDS log if I decide the retrofit is worth it

You can not get the wiring harness that's posted in one of the links. That's for a golf only. You need one for the GTI since the connectors are different on the foglights themselves.

Once I can get my hands on a set of foglights, I'll do a DIY. I have ordered the wiring harness and bezels needed for the conversion.

Electrically it should be feasible, provided your BCM allows this., post your VCDS log or the BCM part number and I can confirm if this will work.

For the hardware, you could search places like AliExpress, Ebay, etc to see if they sell the kits or individual parts.

After week or two my new fog set should be delivered. I hope installation is easy, it looks so. About coding i'm not so sure, I will leave this part for local coders.

Btw I have Trendline(S) model. Unfortunately I'm not sure about current BCM compatibility:/ Fingers crossed!

The GTI is a little different from the Golf I believe. Good luck with the install! I know it's been done on the Golf and there's a few write ups around. If you end up needing a BCM, I suggest Aliexpress if you want to save a couple bucks.If you don't find it, there's a couple of sellers that you can message and they'll add the listing for you!

AW you're the man! Great write up. Thank you! Happen to know your BCM part number?

I had a few members message me that were very helpful with this project, but I decided to put it on hold till the spring. I had way too many projects on the go. I recently caught up on them, and I'm ready to start this a little early I suppose!

Might be, looks similar.

Judging from photos major difference is just in wire loom, my form e-bay seller (Hz-design) looks more oem.

By the way, set contains:
Fog unit box is marked with DEPO auto lamp (Taiwan). Art. 441-2050R-UE; Art. 441-2050L-UE
Wire loom marked as KUFATEC (Germany) Art.39886
Switch marked as oem, 5GG941431DWZU;
Fog bumper frames marked as oem.
4 torqs.

So far I see that current set don't include wire for switch<->bcm*.
Maybe switch for my car would suite better without AUTO position, because car don't have light sensor and runs with standard halogen headlights.
