VCDS - 4 brake lights - Both signals?

I did some trial and error after reading some more posts and getting a better handle on these settings. I decided to leave it set with changing only channels 8, 9, 10, and 12 as shown in the chart above.

I like this setup because both inner/outer function as signals with brakes off. With brakes on, the outer still functions as turn signal, inner lights up as brake.

Also, with headlights on, the tails do not completely go out when signaling. Which I prefer.

Thanks again for the tips. I'm done fiddling with this...for now. Cheers...

Ok. I'm ready to play with this again. Not much else left to tweak.

I just want to make the inner tail function exactly the same as the outer tail.

I don't want the tail lights to go out completely between blinks when signalling, when the lights are on.

Without the bottom 2 settings, everything matches, except that the inner light goes out completely between signal flashes. Which is fine when the lights are off. But doesn't match the outer light when the lights are on.

I played with the 14 channel and set it to stockish 28. This effectively produces the reverse results as described above. It always dims to 28 between flashes. Which obviously does not match the outer tail when the lights are off.

Anyway, I just need to make the relevant settings for inner match the stock outer settings. But I'm not certain exactly what those stock outer settings are.

I will do some more digging...

I suppose it would make sense to review the stock/default settings for the outer tails (outer left stock/default settings below for reference)...

There have been posts about this but I haven't researched it lately. I don't believe that anyone figured it out but I don't know for certain. Wasn't of interest to me, TBH.

You can definitely pimp your upper/third brake light to:
- activate with lock/unlock
- activate with hazards
- activate when reversing

Confirmed that this code works if you want to make the inner tails function exactly as the outer tails do (in stock setting).

(4)-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion A 23 - Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) - Brake light (Bremslicht)
(5)-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion B 23 - not active - Blinken links Hellphase
(6)-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Dimmwert AB 23 - 28 - 100
(8)-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion C 23 - not active - Blinken links Dunkelphase
(11)-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Dimming Direction CD 23 - maximize - minimize
(12)-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Lichtfunktion E 23 - not active - Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht)
(14)-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Dimmwert EF 23 - 0 - 28
(4)-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Lichtfunktion A 24 - Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) - Brake light (Bremslicht)
(5)-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Lichtfunktion B 24 - not active - Blinken rechts Hellphase
(6)-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Dimmwert AB 24 - 28 - 100
(8)-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Lichtfunktion C 24 - not active - Blinken rechts Dunkelphase
(11)-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Dimming Direction CD 24 - maximize - minimize
(12)-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Lichtfunktion E 24 - not active - Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht)
(14)-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Dimmwert EF 24 - 0 - 28

Ok Thanks. Was behind a Merc that had that feature and would really like to do it.

Did anyone ever figure out why the inner tails, when activated as brake lights, light up a split second slower than the outer brake lights do?

In my testing, this is true with or without the running lights on.

However, if the turn signal is activated, this does not occur. The brake lights on the non-signalling side light up synchronously.

Just following up as I found the fix for this.

GOLF MK7 VCDS TWEAKS

https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?sh...m/forums/showthread.php?p=394347&share_type=t

(2) Driving light and parking light -schluss mit bremslichtfunktion
Default: not active
New: active

Edit: this does NOT fix the inner brake illumination delay. The Leucthe20BR and 21BR channels will light up more quickly than any of the other rear channels. In fact, if you disable these channels or repurpose them (say as signal lights), they still flash whenever the brake is pressed

I'd guess your two "14" channels would control that - they're both set at zero. With incans I have mine at "4" to just leave a little afterglow when they blink. Try yours at "10" and adjust from there - be sure to check all functions in case it screws something else up. I'm saying 10 not to emulate mine but because you seem to want them stockish.

Hmm, I think this is what I want mine to be like, I don't want them to go out completely when signaling, want to signal with both inner and outer but keep it "stockish" by dimming between flashes. :)
