The best product Ceramic Pro and F11 have is their marketing. No one markets as well as these guys do. Then you get the placebo effect of greatest in the world. I run into F11 Nut hugger X all the time.... It's a waterless wash people... Everyone has one. Last week I re polished/ re coated my car, took about 4 hours total, guess what, I'm warm and fuzzy again.

Washed it Sunday Morning. Got up @ 4:30 to beat the crowd to the wash bay. Took me 2 hours, rushing on the wheels.

1) Wash with CG Citrus wash. Still rough as shit down the sides and tar speckles visible.

2) Sprayed down sides and read from the glass down with CarPro TRIX, let soak for 5 long minutes. It messes with you, as you would NEVER let Iron-X sit this long typically.

3) After car car turned violet, I rinsed.

4) Washed again with a fresh bucket of Citrus Wash and clean, cheap microfiber mitt. I don't want TRIX on my Microfiber Madness Incredipad, it can damage polymer fibers, as will Iron-X.

I was able to bring back a lot of the beading, and the glow. The sides feel much smoother post TRIX treatment. I was very pleased with TRIX' performance on Ceramic Pro.

Still would rather have CQuartz....

Hey thanks for sharing. Especially the part about Iron-X being bad for microfiber pads/mitts! Can you not just do a second pass with the foam gun afterwards instead of using up another wash mitt?

You mentioned beating people to the wash bay - can I assume that, like me, you don't have your own garage? I am trying to find a solution for winter hand washes myself for when my 2018 comes in. Many detailers have said that the touchless washes are bad for waxes and sealants as they use harsher soap and chemicals that could strip them.

I would rather have the piece of mind of a legitimate wash. Doesn't take but a minute, since the car is already clean. But I would rather walk away knowing that all of said fallout remover is gone. I don't want it on my drying towels either.

If you ever have a clay pad/mitt, such as a nanoskin product(highly recommend), avoid contacting the paint with those after a fallout remover is applied also. Breaks the rubber material down like no other. Pad first, fallout remover after.

Yes, I share a parking garage. Plus it takes me forever lol. Touchless washes can be harsh, but I would rather remove the road brine and salt and hurt my wax then leave the brine on. It hurts the wax too. My beef with car washes in the winter(however) are the freezing temperatures, and a car wash using high pressure to force water into every seam and nook. Bad for trim and panels, plus door mechanisms. I would use low pressure hose, waterless wash, or nothing, before I would go through a autowash. That's just me though, I know some people are restricted to certain methods.

Got a link to some of your favorite nanoskin products? I got the "Evil Kanoodle" wash mitt from gf for xmas and excited to give it a try for "Wash" duty. I follow a local detailer on Youtube and he does great work (20+ years of experience) and also posts all the products he uses. This stuff gets expensive fast! Been putting off getting everything required to do my own full wash and detail but with the new car coming I am slowly making purchases to do a new car prep myself (having someone do it would be more expensive than me buying all the tools and products at this point).

I am thinking that the best alternative for someone like me after a ceramic coating would be to bring the car to a self-serv bay during winter and just use the pressure washer to rinse the car down every week or so without using their harsh chemical soap. Should get most of the brine off and better than doing nothing I suppose!

Best wash mitt/pad/sponge ever. The Incredipad is the sinlge most prized asset I own. Three of haha. I have the XL, and two small ones. The small ones are the best though. Very versitile. If you drop it, it rinses clean super easy. Holds a shat ton of product. I can't recommend the Microfiber Madness Incredipad enough to everyone!

https://www.detailedimage.com/Griots-M56/PFM-Terry-Weave-Drying-Towel-P1369/25-x-35-S1/

Best drying towel I've found so far. I know the Rag Company has some good ones also.

https://www.detailedimage.com/Meguiars-M43/Hyper-Wash-P670/128-oz-S1/

Best "Bang For Buck" Shampoo on this green earth. 1:400 Dilution, super stable suds, and strong neutral cleaning power. No wax. No gloss enhancers. No BS. Just clean. This is my claylube for when I use a Nanoskin clay wash mitt. Just spike the dilution some. Only comes in the gallon, like most Meg's Professional Line products.

https://www.detailedimage.com/NanoSkin-M54/NanoSkin-AutoScrub-Fine-Foam-Pad-P625/6-S1/

I use this nanoskin pad the most. It was meant for use on a machine but I use it with my hand. Use light pressure! detailedimage.com offers Velcro handle for it too. I use that sometimes.

https://www.detailedimage.com/Optimum-OPT-M36/No-Rinse-Wash-Shine-2010-Formula-P444/32oz-S1/

Clay lube and a really good quick detailer. Leaves a wicked gloss. I wouldn't use it as a detailer on a coating though. Hinders performance as it leaves behind silicons.

https://www.detailedimage.com/Grit-Guard-M25/Grit-Guard-Insert-P119/WHITE-S3/

I have one in each bucket, even for my wheel bucket. I also use the black backboard they offer in combination in my rinse bucket. Gives you a nice surface and the Incredipad works well with it.

https://www.detailedimage.com/Chemical-Guys-M31/Bug-Bugger-Tar-Remover-P277/16-oz-S1/

My new wheel soap. Not pH neutral. No wax. But tough. I used to use Citrus Wash but they disconituned it. Why? I haven't a bloody clue cause it was a great soap. I still have some and I milk it haha. But this is pretty much the same product just being sold to use in a different bottle. 1oz in a 3 gallon bucket seems perfect. Likes warm water too. I clean rims, calipers, and exhaust tips with this. Not an all in one wheel solution, but tough.

https://www.detailedimage.com/Meguiars-M43/Non-Acid-Wheel-Cleaner-P828/128-oz-S1/

The last wheel/tire cleaner I will ever buy. Used to buy Sonax, which is super expensive but super good. This is equally good, and WAY cheaper. I have used it for a year, and with a Tuf Shine(brand) tire brush this has kept my tires looking right off the rack. I don't use tire dressings anymore because this keeps them looking great. I use it at 1:3 dilution in a DI brand high volume sprayer. Great sprayer. Find it on same website as link.

https://www.detailedimage.com/CarPro-M53/TRIX-Tar-and-Iron-Remover-P624/600-ml-S1/

Most recent product that made me a believer that CarPro is probably the best car care brand on the streets right now. Wow. Combines two of their awesome products into one. Making it double awesome. Long dwell time, but pays off. Super stinky like Iron-X though. I had to vacate it was giving me a headache hahaha.

https://www.detailedimage.com/CarPro-M53/Eraser-Intensive-Oil-and-Polish-Cleaner-P603/5-L-S2/

Link to the gallon cause that's how I buy it. I literally use this for cars and around the house. Countertops, windows, mirrors, stove tops. Works great. Also the best automotive glass cleaner I have found and a great step to take before laying your preferred layer of protection down.

https://www.detailedimage.com/CarPro-M53/Reload-Spray-Sealant-P605/400-ml-S1/

Sealant I recommend the most. But I am sure others will recommend a million others since their are a million others. Ha. This is just the best I have found in terms of time spent applying, ease of applying, and longevity. My friends red WRX I new car prepped beaded well past CarPros 6 month claim. That was with frequent washing also. This is what protects all of my Dad's business vehicles. Which get like 2 washes a year lol.

Good luck. The year I got "liberated" was a very expensive year, but worth it. I was buying so many products I upped my renters insurance. No joke.

As for winter care for your coated vehicle, CarPro Reset shampoo or the Meg's D110 I linked. Or, if you have to waterless wash. CarPro ECO2o or the famed Optimum no Rinse. Both are good. If you go waterless wash, here is the towel I recommend and use. Caught them on sale and bought 20 of them dedicated just to my "waterless-wash kit".

At what dilution do you use the ON as a quick detailer?

Awesome list, thanks for sharing! I actually made an Excel file with all the stuff I want to buy. Already got two 5-gallon buckets with grit guard, and I have sonax left over ffrom before so I will use that up before moving to your suggested, cheaper wheel cleaner! I also am very intrigued by the car pro TRIX, as I have the iron-X on my list, but if this is equivalent for removing iron and ALSO acts as a tar remover, I'll replace the iron-X with this product!

I know what you mean about cost - my little list comes to about $1300 (that is including carpro ceramic coating and a decent buffer though) but the way I see it, I can do my own new car prep when I receive my car next month, as opposed to having a well rep'd detailer do it for me at $100-1500, which essentially is the cost of my list, so it basically pays itself :p A friend of mine who has a car wrapping business is also hooking me up to do xpel ultimate for a great price - I supply the beer and we get it done :D Gonna do full hood, headlights, front bumper and front fenders.

^ Great list.

It is very similar to what I use on a regular basis. personally I still use clay on my personal cars and prefer the Sonus Ultra-Fine.

The Incredipad is an amazing wash sponge. One of may favorite. I also really like the new CarPro Hand Wash Microfiber Mitt.

HyperWash is my go-to soap along with Carpro Reset.

$1300 is close to what I spent three summers ago. That is not outrageous at all. The starter list my detailing friend made me initially(I gave him my card even) came to $630. With that, I had alllll the basics covered. Built from there.

XPEL is so good! Do it!!! PPF will be the first thing going on all my cars going forward.

yesh I will definitely be doing the xpel, as my current STI has a lot of front bumper dings, rock chips and the hood as well, I had bought it used and did not think of doing PPE on it. I have managed to maintain it well but that stuff you can never get out without a full repaint. I like my car looking perfect as often as possible and with the XPEL, a good portion of my OCD will be controlled!

Just a follow-up to your thread. Thanks again for sharing your feedback and products list!

In preparation to receive my golf-R (hopegully next week if all goes well), I put in an order to eshine to do a full exterior "new car" prep and ceramic coating. Here's my order list:

1 x Nylon Wheel and Rim Brush (8in)
1 x The Rag Company Microfiber Waffle Weave Towel - Blue (16x16) (They were half off so I thought why not?)
1 x Chemical Guys Maxi-Suds II (16oz) (CWS_101_16)
1 x Carpro Cquartz UK Edition Kit W/Reload (30ml)
1 x Carpro Essence Xtreme Gloss Enhancer (250ml)
1 x CarPro Eraser Intense Oil & Polish Cleanser W/Sprayer (1000ml)
1 x CarPro IronX W/Sprayer (500ml)
1 x Griot's Garage 6" Polisher with 3 x 6.5" Lake Country Pads

I decided to go with the Iron-X as opposed to the other product you mentioned because the car doesn't have any tar on it, and I really want the BEST decontaminant for iron on the market; many of the members on detailing forums had stated that despite the combined product being good at both, the individual products (iron-X and tar-X) are the best at their duties.

I also got a foam gun for my power washer;
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01DKC6IY6/ref=pe_3034960_236394800_TE_dp_1

Getting pretty anxious to get my car...I asked my salesman to make sure they only do a foam wash/rinse and no hand wash since I plan on doing a detailing myself after I pick up the car...should be FUN and SATISFYING!

I found that the TRIX did work as well as IRON-X, just needs to dwell longer. Which, with the smell, is certainly a negative lol.

Congratulations on the R man! Happy detailing!

thanks! Should get my new R by the end of the week provided my Subaru passes the leakdown test today (buyer requested it).

I also had a $50 Amazon gift card and decided to go with the Gyeon Q2 leather shield for the leather seats inside. Price was cheaper than the Carpro cquartz leather, and the reviews seemed more or less equal on the two products!

should get most of my detailing suppies today :D
