Do you have a log with the same settings PRIOR to the IS20 install to compare it to?

2nd gear pulls? Do you have a manual or auto? For me at least 2nd gear pulls aren't very useful because it happens so fast the engine never gets fully loaded or I just spin the tires, but I understand that 3rd gear pulls are hard because you need to find an empty strip of road long enough to get to about 110mph for manual and nearly 90mph for auto. It looks like your trims max out at about the same time you start loosing boost, so try increasing your FOL to 70 and see what happens. We know it says on the first page not to increase that beyond 60, but that applies to the GTI and not our cars. I think TwinDad is currently running FOL 80.

Yes, second gear pulls in a manual. I haven't been able to test 3rd gear for fear of loosing my license and my car, Ontario has crazy speeding laws! All of the usual backroads are covered in snow. I will test at FOL 70 and see about a 3rd gear log.

This is a really fun DD so far!

In case anyone is wondering what a conservative 17 psi is20 map fol 70 looks like, here are some logs in 27 degrees. I can tell there is a lot left on the table but in this cold weather probably better to let the ecu adapt a little and maybe wait for it to warm up before i turn it up a bit. Just came back from a 200 mile trip to nyc and back loaded up with the family and the car didn't even so much as hiccup...

What Fuel and what other mods? Seems like your timing is taking a hit on not a lot of boost

4th tank of 91 Octane Esso (Canada)
JB4 - Updated firmware, AFR wire tapped
034 dogbone insert (still occasionally axle hops violently, might pull it out)
No other mods.

It was 0F, that may be why. The car was pulling hard and spinning 2nd gear on most surfaces.

I've lowered boost to 8psi since that log and will wait until it warms up or I find and install an IS20 before pushing it again.

More 18 psi logs in 50 degree weather...pretty happy so far. Everything else looks solid, almost 16 timing advance by 6200. Next weekend is going to be about 60 degrees, any reason why I shouldn't bring it to 19 psi?

Fol-70

Update: Just spoke to George, going to bring down the psi by 1 at at 6k and above to see if the car allows for some more timing advance up top....more to come...

JB4 characteristics

I am considering JB4 for my 2017 SportWagen. Compared to my stock 2016 Golf S, the Wagen feels sluggish on city streets. I have little need to engage turbo with most city driving, thus seeking a tune that improves response and torque at the lower rpm bands and without activating turbo. Can JB4 do this?
