well first let me note that I said "probably" and I preface below with the same word.

bigger rear bar reduces understeer but does little to help grip up front. car becomes easier to drive fast because driver is making fewer steering corrections since understeer is reduced. But tire grip may not be improved. Rear tires may be slipping more with added stiffness. So easy to drive fast but not necessarily faster.

if your objective is DD you may not care about the potential tradeoff.

Just picked up the VW bar today, #5Q0511305BA from the VW dealer. Cost more from the dealer than on-line, but at least the $s stayed local. I'll be installing the bar tomorrow or Saturday. It is a hollow bar too BTW.

Standard GTI rear sway bar is 20mm
GTI PP rear sway bar is 21.7mm
I doubt that 1.7mm would not make any noticeble difference, would it?
