Creaking noise after spring install

That is a good read. Most of those people are describing a clunk and noise during turning, which I don't have.

I might try applying some grease to the spring isolators.

Which bolts are stretch bolts? I reused the old hardware since it only had 2500 miles, should I have swapped then out for new?

I don't have a list of the stretch bolts maybe ECS can help but I didn't have time or wanted to search so I just swapped all of them. Stretch bolts do not care about how many miles you have 15 miles or 100,000 miles stretch bolts are recommended to be replaced once removed.

That's what I'm learning now. DAP's diy showed reusing bolts that's why I did it but I'm kind of learning otherwise.

New plan: order a spring install kit from DAP or ECS, take apart and reinstall with new hardware while lightly greasing spring isolators.

I'll report back how it goes.

I've done 100+ suspension installs and I've never had any issues on my cars or "customers"

The only bolts I replace are the strut "pinch" bolts (at the spindle/base of the strut)...N90954802
And then I replace the strut bearings...very crucial to noises.

When disassembling the struts, I've had the strut bearings just fall apart in pieces in my hands. And with extra miles, dirt/grime/salt just builds up in them and contaminates the grease inside (working it's way in). And that's the only moving part of the strut & where the spring pivots....which leads to noise (spring popping) if it's not turning properly/cleanly like it should.

Making sure the mount (and bearing on the MK7) are lined up/oriented properly is crucial.
The spring too, lol. (should be common sense)

If the car is older/lots of miles, I might recommend replacing the mounts too and the strut mount bolts or possibly the endlinks too....but you have a newer car and wouldn't be necessary yet (IMO).

This is how I do it, doesn't mean it's right, but I don't torque to the factory specs either. I did it the first time I ever did an install and that was the last time.
I always just do it nice & tight.

Again...springs, cup kits, coilovers....never had any issues.

Try twisting the spring in the direction to get the spring seated better. I just did my springs and had the same issue with the right front. After the technician twisted the spring in one direction and noticed the noise got louder during the test drive, he turned it the other way and now it doesn't squeak.

I actually meant to reply back to this. The creaking noise decreased in volume until it is now all but gone. I still have it if I listen very closely while I go over the bump at the bottom of my driveway in reverse. Otherwise it went away on its own.

It is all good advice here though. I bet the settling that I experienced is probably the same as what blwong suggested, just over time, little by little.
