Sorry Peter...haven't had the time yet :( I've popped my ODB KIWI cable in my work bag for tomorrow and connect it on my way home from central London...I should get a few opportunities to open her up when warmed up...

No worries!

Did some driving today, seems to be optimal to shift at 6300-6500 to get a good push on next gear.
Rev stop at 6800 seems to be rather safe for such an engine.

Looking forward to our report.

Awesome guys - keep the posts coming!

Trying to do our best. (Without risking the driving license........;))

Well Peter, you were absolutely right. I must have been imagining things....I've had my tools on the car....I've floored the throttle...And yup max revs 6812 rpm.

No we know for sure :).

The KIWI cable I haven’t used, but I have VCDS (VAG –com), mostly to adjust some settings /tweaks in the "steering modules".

I like the KIWI as it generates a WIFI in the car, and I just connect iphone/ipad to it :) Long gone are the days of the 20pin BMW connectors with wires coming out of the bonnet into a laptop on the passenger seat :)

I have VCDS as well, but packed the cable as my home office is being refurbished...Have you had a play with the speaker settings for the induction sounds yet? At full wide open throttle it is slightly to loud for me and the you can hear the speaker hitting its limits...I think 65% would be good.

From what I have read it’s also a “vibrating unit” active nearby the viper engine. I have seen the subheader it in the VCDS menu but not done anything yet about it.

Tweaks I have adjusted:
  • Alarm beep on lock/unlock
  • Seat belt warning of (Very annoying during minor move of a car at our yard. Always use belt on the road.)
  • Start stop permanent deactivation
One I have tried but not succeeded to save is Automatic Rain closing of windows and sunroof. The instructions regarding this isn’t working, one is via the longcodehelper for 09 Electronics – 07 coding – RFLS code Byte 0 Bit 2 says something about the value is not accepted. I had it activated on my former GTI 6.

Last time I tried was a week ago with the latest SW Ross tech 12.12.2. Have used the SE one 12.12.0. before.

Yes, now I have adjusted the Sound actuator with VCDS :):

  • A9 Struct. Borne Sound
  • Adaptation 10
  • Select "Channel of structure borne sound actuator"
  • Std value 100% Changed to 80%

Used suggested security code for change approval.

It's adjustable to zero.

(I'd ask where but one can only presume it'll have been recorded on your private air field?)

More to the point :p Watch you license and speed, the acceleration is so ferocious that one frustrated foot down overtaking manoeuvre takes you up to 120mph+ speeds before you had time to move back to the left...

How long does it hold those values for?

Will the max value be there until you next better it?

CTS Intake

Long time since last update.

Some time ago I installed a “CTS Turbo intake” kit. I like the sound from the intake, not to loud :D.
