was your initial plan to replace the factory Audi sub with that SWS? If so, were you gonna use an amp? I also have an 8V with the base speakers and want more bass

Yeah so I did a full sub replacement with the sws. They’re just sold in pairs hence listing the second one. Driving it with a JL MX 300/1 mounted in a spare pass side trunk bracket (used for B&O amp I think) and have the woofer in a euro spare wheel enclosure (have to do a bit of trimming and get a longer plastic screw). Trickiest bit was getting a 12V trigger (cleanest way is to splice L/R rear fog and reverse lights in the trunk lid to end up with 2 extra BCM pins and code one of them to send +12V with ignition) and running the power/ground from the fuse box in the front. If you use an LC2i can avoid the trigger drama.

Massive improvement over the stock rattly parcel shelf unit but given size of woofer not going to be earth shaking. PM with any Qs, happy to answer. Did pretty much this same exact setup in my fiancee’s Q5 7-8 yrs ago!
