I have a 335 with BMW's performance exhaust and it pops under certain circumstances but it's easy to drive with no pops. It's a manual so if you lift the throttle abruptly above 2500 rpm -like decel to a light, it will pop and burble for a few seconds. There's a subtle burble at startup too...
