This may help others if the Velcro does not completely get rid of a squeaking sunroof. Mine would squeak like crazy as soon as the weather turned cold (rubber against metal sound). Velcro helped some, but what cured my sunroof squeak was using Gummi Pflege on the bottom of the outer side seals...

The water pump on my '17 started leaking at about 49,500 miles. Replaced under CPO warranty. My old '12 GTI had the water pump go out about 51,000 miles and the leak made the G 28 Engine Speed Sensor fail (car went into limp mode). This was just outside of warranty, but VW covered the repair...
