I saw that too:

The Club Sport roof spoiler can be used only in conjunction with tailgate 5G6827025H or 5G6827025Q.

Golf R and GTI share the same hatch. Your spoilers are plastic and the top of the hatch has indents for it to bolt to. The Golf and Golf Sportwagon the Spoiler is actually part of the hatch itself and is stamped metal.

Just FYI.

Bummer! I was in the process of buying the rear diffusor, but they don't ship to the US.. damn.

Since it has a VW part number, why don't you try to get your local dealer to order one directly from Germany?

Do you mean to say that the CS spoiler can be more easily retrofitted to a Golf and Golf Sportwagon than to a Golf R or GTI?

It means that the CS spoiler will only fit the Golf and Sportwagon.
They have a metal integrated spoiler that the CS spoiler mounts to.

The GTI and R have a different hatch that doesn't have the integrated metal spoiler, but has a plastic spoiler. Therefore, it WON'T fit the GTI or R.

Wonder why they done that then...

It's probably due to loading. I would bet that the stamped spoiler on the Golf/Sportwagen could hold more weight than the bolted on plastic spoiler of the GTI. This would be necessary to translate the added downforce to the chassis.

I'm pretty bummed about this.

Unfortunately . . . that's all true. ;)

For those interested, if I remember correctly the Clubsport is sold since
January in Germany and in the UK for quite some weeks at least. There
are some German and British forums providing the most interesting part
numbers. I will let you know when I come across these topics again.

The Clubsport S is a different beast. No part numbers at all yet, but I
had a nice talk with someone well-briefed (please don't ask me) lately.
From memory, it'll come with at least these modifications:

- CJX engine with IS38 (similar to Clubsport/R/S3)
- 310 PS and 380 Nm, top speed of 265 km/h (S3 and R: speed-limiter at 250)
- again different exhaust than regular Clubsport
- uprated fuel pump
- two auxiliary radiators (instead of just one on normal Clubsport)
- reinforced manual gearbox (slightly modified internals)
- reinforced/stiffer engine and gearbox mounts
- smaller battery (44 Ah if I remember correctly)
- two-piece front rotors
- specific brake pads
- specific front knuckles for added camber
- specific toe-in settings
- aluminium subframe (adoption from Audi A3)
- probably some stiffer suspension bushes (not confirmed)
- Pretoria wheels and PS Cup 2 semislicks as standard (instead of optional)
- DCC as standard, with specific setup and additional "Nurburgring" setting
- no rear seats
- decreased use of sound deadening
- probably strut and/or rear braces (not confirmed)
- definitely no roll cage (as opposed to the record-breaking car)
- no harnesses
- 2-door only
- specific ESC and VAQ setup + fully defeatable ESC
- same body work and interior bits as standard Clubsport
- "Clubsport S" on the black stripe
- number ".. of 400" printed in front of gear lever
- only 200 made with A/C, 200 without A/C
- pure white, tornado red and deep black only, all with black roof

Not sure on springs and sway bars. Pardon me, I forgot to ask.
If you have any ideas/questions I should convey, just let me know.
